Cassi was born and raised in Ohio where she spent her high school years running long distance through cornfields. She graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2013. She then worked in the float pool, inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, as well as in labor/delivery/nursery where she also was a Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor. She also taught Obstetrical clinicals to RN students. She furthered her education once again at the University of Toledo with a Master’s of Science in Nursing, focusing on Primary Care Pediatrics. She spent a large amount of time training in an underserved community caring for children with chronic conditions. She is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. In part of her experience, she spent time working for the Navy as a civilian while her husband served in the military, living in Okinawa, Japan. Most recently, her husband was relocated to the DC metropolitan area which led to Cassi joining Burke Pediatrics. Together, they reside in Woodbridge, with their 7 year old son, 5 year old daughter, and a new puppy named “Caramel Macchiato”. Cassi enjoys spending time with her family, going on long walks, and reading. She is very passionate about caring for children and is especially comfortable assisting new Mothers with breastfeeding and in caring for their newborn.
